I explained to her that oak has grain and it would be difficult to get that exact look because grain can hold the glaze.  She still wanted that look so we moved forward.  We worked hard to get the grain filled the best we could so it could handle glazing.  I took one of her cabinets and did the whole process so I could show her before we did the whole kitchen.  Sh;e loved the sample and I was quite impressed too.  So we moved forward finishing and glazing all the doors and drawer fronts.  We started with spraying one coat of primer and then we sanded it back to wood.  The primer then helped fill the grain along with 2 more coats of primer sanded smooth after each coat.  We then sprayed her choice of color to the cabinets.  Next we sprayed a powder glaze on the doors and drawer fronts.  Once that dries it turns to powder and then we sand it back with a very fine paper and manipulate it until we like the look.  This is very time consuming but fun because it’s more of an art.  After all faces are done we then spray a clear coat over everything to seal in the glaze.  We then had to do the same process on all the frame work and side panels in her kitchen .   In the end it turned out beautiful and the client was very happy with the end result.
