Painting New Construction

All doors and drawer fronts were made out of Mdf  ( we replace quite a few doors with mdf doors in the kitchens we refinish.  Customers can get any style and they’re a one piece door so theres no movement with the panel.)  We started with sanding all pieces and then applying our first coat of primer.  We then had to sand again to eliminate any fibers from the mdf.  Mdf takes a bit more sanding than wood due to the fibers that get raised from the coatings going on.  When everything was smooth and perfect we then sprayed on the color.  This kitchen had two colors.  The surrounding cabinets were white and the island was a really pretty bluish green.  Next was taping off all the framework and applying the same process.  When everything was finished we installed all the pieces back where they belonged. We then drilled holes for the knobs and handles.  There were 4 different sizes throughout this kitchen along with large appliance handles. The refrigerator and dishwasher had matching cabinet panels on them for that sleek hidden look.  This was a very fun kitchen and the outcome was amazing. Everyone was very pleased with the end result.
